Podcast "Film As Female": Umma

I chose to do a podcast that further touched on motherhood in Horror. The new 2022 film, Umma directed by Iris Shim tells the story of generational trauma with mothers and daughters. Amanda, played by Sandra Oh, receives news from her uncle that her Umma had passed. Amanda had spent years trying to distance herself from her mother and her Korean heritage. While doing this she kept secrets from her daughter, Chris, played by Five Stewart. Her Umma's wish is to be put to rest and when Amanda isn't prepared to do that, Umma begins to haunt them.
